Thanks so much to everyone who helped make this a success: school staff- Sarah, Martha, Wesam, Kristin, Margaret, and all the gen ed teachers who worked with me to round up the peers and excuse them from class! We also had two parents helping out- thanks to Ian's dad, Ken, and Kaitlyn's mom, Annemarie!
Hello! Our week started off with a 3rd grade field trip to Green Acres as part of the Habitats science unit. Not surprisingly to all of us that know and adore Ian, he came back to school sopping wet. We are continuing to read Mo Willems' books this month! This week it was "Don't Let the Pigeon Ride the Bus!" Together, the three boys made a list of over 15 different vehicles and then each picked 3 to draw. My clever teacher mind thought this would force Ian to choose a vehicle other than a train to draw, but he outsmarted me by choosing a train, a tram, and a subway. Ian: 1. Mrs. Gray: 0. In 3rd grade they have started doing their health units. Here's Sasha taking part in a role play about bullying. On Friday we participated in the first ever A2 Unified Sports Day for elementary students. The elementary self-contained classes from all over the district gathered at Huron High School for a track and field event. We brought along 15 peers from our peer mentoring program so each student had a partner. The events were bowling, 25 yd dash, 50 yd dash, relay race, frisbee toss, and tennis ball throw. After we got back, Margaret led a group lesson to a bunch of exhausted kids! Have a great weekend!
