I have quite a few pictures to share going back to Valentines Day. The big news in Room 114 is that we've been counting (actual) school days and on Friday we hit 99! So tomorrow we will not only get to compose a 10 with our cubes, but also get to compose a 100. (I was unsure about how we were going to do this with our Unifix cubes, but Mrs. Bauer has a great idea!) We also finished up our chart where we counted animals in different classifications. We've been talking about famous world landmarks in Social Studies and also carrying this over to our literacy group where we are focusing on one landmark at a time and writing about it. Most kids post these writings on Seesaw- thanks to all who follow along and comment.
Hello! We had 4 consecutive days of schools of school this week, and I believe we all enjoyed the consistency and return to structure and routine! (Maybe it was just me!!!) Well, we almost had a full week! Hopefully *this* is the week we will be at school on a Wednesday!! We worked on our new social studies unit this week. We are learning about 8 different famous landmarks around the world: the Statue of Liberty, the Sydney Opera House, the Pyramids, the Eiffel Tower, the Collesseum, the Taj Mahal, Big Ben, and the Great Wall of China. One of the activities we did this week was to look at a world map and put the landmarks on the correct county. We also did a little bit of writing about Valentines this week. Mostly we were just focused on getting back into a solid routine of school after the unexpected days off over the past few weeks. Enjoy some photos!
What an odd couple of weeks! I'm no longer sure what week of school we are on! I can tell you with a relative degree of certainty that we finished Day 89 of school on Friday! Due to all the weather related closings it feels like it's taken a long time to get through the 80's! I'm hopeful for some consistent days at school so we can all get back into our routines and schedules.
We are a little behind schedule but will be wrapping up our science unit on animal classifications and habitats and switching back to social studies. We will be learning about some famous world landmarks around the world. I have a few pictures to share of the last couple of weeks. Enjoy! |
