As promised... one last blog update! I have a bit of a backlog of pictures to share! I apologize for all the things that aren't pictured (3rd grade trip to Henry Ford, water park, amongst other things) I have just a few pictures of Field Day to share! It was fun, but a hot one! 5th Grade Camp! Sasha and I spent 3 days this week at beautiful Camp Tanuga in northern Michigan. This is the second year that at least one student from our program has attended camp. Sasha did a great job rising to the challenges that camping and being away from home present, and we both had a great time! To celebrate the last day of school, Mrs. H invited us to her annual pancake breakfast! We had pancakes, sausage, fresh squeezed orange juice, strawberries, brownies, and apples! We're so thankful every year to participate in this fun tradition and celebrate the last day with friends! Thanks to all the families that were able to make it to the 2nd Annual Great Paper Plate Award Ceremony. This was an idea we threw together at the last minute last year and was such a hit that Beth and I decided to make it a tradition! Enjoy the photos! Last but not least we say goodbye to just one 5th grader this year, Sasha! When I first came to Wines our classroom was just 2nd and 3rd grades, and Sasha came in as a 2nd grader. The following year I transitioned to grades 3-5, so Sasha joins an exclusive club of having been in our class for 4 years. It's been a pleasure to see him grow (in academics, social skills, language, and HEIGHT!!)! Congratulations Sasha (and family!)! One thing I enjoyed most about Sasha is that he always kept me on my toes and how he would laugh about all the various mistakes I make throughout the day- writing the wrong day of the week, forgetting something on the schedule, or making a spelling error on a worksheet I'd created. Lately, however, this one has been his favorite and seems an appropriate way to end the 17-18 school year blog. Have a great summer, everyone! You all know how to reach me if there's anything I can help with!
