What a busy week we had! Field trips, mystery teacher readers, the 3rd grade concert... I have lots of pictures to share from the week's events. Below are some shots from around the classroom. We continued talking about tantrums and what we can do instead! We had to decorate a big letter "E" as part of the kindness message now on display in the cafeteria. And... our classroom won $100 from the Meemic insurance company. I was the lucky winner at Wednesday's staff meeting. Next up... the third grade concert! Finally we have Field Trip Friday! We split up and went the K-grams Kids Fair and to the annual Victors Day event! Both trips went really well, and we were sad Sasha and Jack were unable to join us!

Hello! We are entering a really busy season at Wines... spring coming on means lots of concerts, special events, and field trips! There's lots to experience and look forward to, and hopefully lots of pictures! This week we had the River Residency, a 3rd grade field trip, and the 4th grade recorder/vocal music concert. We finished our second chapter book for our Read Aloud Group, and starting a new book this week that is more complicated with longer chapters! We are keeping track of all the books that we are reading during March and will share the list at the end of the month!
This week's Behavior Basics focus was on tantrums (or promoting the absence of...). Here are the take home points to go reinforce at home: It is not okay to have a tantrum because it isn't safe. I can get hurt or hurt someone else. Tantrums will not get me what I want. We can solve problems by using our words. This particular set of lessons have brought out some interesting conversations with the kids and we are going to continue the discussion this week. Enjoy the photos of the week's events! Hello! We had a busy week in 114! It was so busy I didn't manage to take many pictures!
Our Behavior Basics lesson was Asking For Help! We learned that it is okay to ask for help! Asking for help means that we care about our work and want to do our work the right way. We may need to ask for help doing something, understanding something, or interacting with someone. At school we can ask friends or teachers to help us! The kids have really been excited about the Mercy Watson book we have been reading. Mercy did some crazy things including jumping into the drivers seat of a moving car! Sasha told us, "Do not try this at home!" and that is sound advice! I have included some photos below of our science lessons so you can see what we are studying. |
