We made it! Before we got too deep into summer, I wanted to write one final post to wrap up the year and share pictures from the last week of school. The last week we had two big field trips. The third graders went to the Henry Ford and the fourth graders went to Lansing to tour the capital. Mrs. H. hosted her annual pancake breakfast on the last day of school. We had pancakes, apples, bacon, and juiced our own oranges! Last year, Rohan was always asking us to measure him after the weekends to see how much he had grown. So this year, we decided to measure the kids periodically throughout the year. I'm pretty sure Sasha will outgrow us all by the time he reaches 5th grade. It has been a year of friendship for us in Room 114, as the kids have become more connected with each other and also with their peers in their general education classrooms. Sasha was insistent on writing this letter to his 3rd grade class. It was entirely his idea. Ms. Yribar shared it with the class and said the kids were literally clapping and cheering. I'm calling it a win! Congratulations to Eesha, who is moving on to middle school! We will miss her, and look forward to seeing her at community events next year and beyond. Running into former students is always a highlight of the special events we do throughout the year. Have a great summer!
